Sunday Bulletin Announcements

Youth   will meet on Sept. 9 & 16: 5:00pm Sept. 23: 4:00 pm  at the church.

Circle of Hope Prayer group will meet on Tuesday at 10:00am in the Parlor. Please join them here if you can or pray with them wherever you are at that time. “ Don’t ask God to guide your footsteps if you’re not willing to pick up your feet.” (Copied)

 Wesley Fellowship Class  will meet on Tuesday at 8:30am at Piney Point, 4pm & 7pm  at the church, Wednesday at 8pm in the Parlor.

BIBLE STUDY  Wednesday at 7pm in the Sanctuary. Pastor Bill will continue the study on John Wesley's Five Means of Grace.

Sweatin’ With Jesus What is "Sweatin With Jesus"?  This is a low impact exercise program.  We are sweatin to contemporary Christian music and having a great time in the Lord.  Each class begins with a devotion and ends with prayer--and is 45 minutes in length. Monday & Wednesday  6:00pm-7:00 pm and Tuesday &  Thursday  9 am to 10am. 

MerryMakers Wednesday, September 12th, at 8:30 a.m. In FUMC's parking lot to go to Carthage, N.C. We plan to visit the House in the Horseshoe and possibly other sites.  The house was built around 1772, and was named "Retreat" by its second owner, Gov. Benjamin Williams. Known as the Alston House, its walls still bear numerous scars and bullet holes from a Revolutionary War skirmish. Admission to the house is free.  Lunch will be at Pete's Family Restaurant.  A sign-up sheet is posted outside of the church office.  Please sign-up by Monday, September 10th.

Finance Committee  will meet on Thursday September 25th at 7pm.

Homecoming September 15 &16  Saturday Schedule  5-5:45pm— Music in the Sanctuary

6:00pm —BBQ and all the trimmings at the picnic area.— Games —Corn hole will be set-up behind the bus garage. —

Kids games — Sing along— Bring your guitar and we will have a great evening of fellowship.

Sunday Schedule —9:30am— Sunday School—10:30am —Combined Worship Service — Rev. Steve Autrey will be the guest speaker.—12 noon— Homecoming covered dish meal in the Fellowship Hall.

 UMW Homecoming Luminaries Fundraiser  For homecoming weekend, the UMW will again offer the opportunity to recognize someone important in your life and faith journey with the purchase of a  luminary. Contact  Cindy Jones at 704-474-9136 or any UMW member with any questions or requests.  The luminaries will be placed around the tree on the front lawn (weather permitting) and lit on both Saturday night and Sunday morning of  homecoming weekend.

Cross of Blessings The United Methodist Women’s Cross of Blessings is currently at the home of Cheryl Helms carrying prayers for Cheryl Helms, Al & Helen Barclay. If you know of anyone in need of the Cross of Blessings please call 704-474-4070

UPCOMING EVENTS

Fish & Wesley Kids will meet together for a Pajama Party on Sunday, Sept. 23 4-5:30pm. Come wearing your pajamas for a fun afternoon of videos, snacks and games. BRING a pair of new pajamas to donate to a needy child. We will have a great time and help others in need.

Church Council   will meet on Monday September 17th at 7pm in the Fellowship Hall.

United Methodist Women The Faithful Circle will meet in the church fellowship hall on Tuesday, September 18th at    1:30 pm, each member is asked to bring a dish to share.

The SWAP circle will meet on the same date at 6:30 pm in the fellowship hall. 

Wednesday Night Fellowship Meal  will be  Wednesday September 19th at 6pm. Signup sheet is on the bulletin board across from the church office.

DIY  will meet on Thursday, September 20th at 6:30pm in the fellowship hall. The project will be a Fall painting on Burlap canvas. The price is $15 and a signup sheet is on the bulletin board across from the church office.

CARING FOR THE CAREGIVER  A new program, "Caring for the Caregiver" hopes to offer a 2-4 hour respite for full time caregivers. This time may be used for personal meetings, appointments or simply a moment's rest. We would like to initiate this  service in December and presently seek to know the names of caregivers that are interested, as well as volunteers willing to serve     2-4 hours weekly or monthly. If interested, please fill out a brochure located on the table outside of Sarah Lee's office.
