YOUTH   Today at 3:30-5:00 at the church.

F.i.s.h. First In Serving Him (ages 3 - 2nd grade).  Hey Kids! We will have a special Mother's Day FISH program on May 6th from 4 - 5:30. We will be making SUPER-SECRET surprises for Mom! We will have a great time, hope to see you there.

Drive Through Prayer & Breakfast Tuesday, May 8th 7am-9am. Donations of muffins, sausage, ham or plain biscuits would be appreciated. Please contact Nancy Forsyth if you would like to  participate or donate to this   project.

MerryMakers Wednesday, May 9, at 8:30 am, be at  FUMC parking lot to go to  Forrest Greenslade's Organic Forestry Studio and Forrest Dweller Sculpture Garden in Fearrington Village in Chatham County.  Folks from all over the country  come to enjoy Forrest's nature-inspired paintings and sculpture. The garden is a National Wildlife  Federation Certified Wildlife Habitat.  Dr. Greenslade  invites us to come and walk on the wild side.  Lunch will be at the Belted Galloway.  A sign up sheet is posted on the hall bulletin board.

 

 

Weekly Happenings 

Wesley Fellowship Class   Tuesday at 8:30am at Piney Point, Tuesday at 4:30pm in the Sims Parlor, Tuesday at 7pm at the church and Wednesday at 8pm in the Sims Parlor.

Circle of Hope Prayer Group will meet on Tuesday at 10 am in the Sims Parlor. “Just a little talk with    Jesus makes it right…”

Bible Study  Wednesdays at 7pm.

Sweatin With Jesus What is "Sweatin With Jesus"?  This is a low impact exercise program that we will be offering during the month of May It will help you get those extra pounds off before swim season gets here!!   We are sweatin to contemporary Christian music and having a great time in the Lord.  Each class begins with a devotion and ends with prayer--and is 45 minutes in length.  We will be having the class in the fellowship hall on Monday & Wednesday evenings from 6:00-7:00 and Tuesday &  Thursday mornings from 9-10.                                                                                                                                                                

 

Upcoming announcements

 United Methodist Women

The Faithful Circle will meet on May 15th in the church fellowship hall beginning with refreshments at 1:30pm. Each attendee is asked to bring a refreshment to share.

The SWAP Circle will also meet at the church at 6:30 pm on May 15th. Paulette Hinson and Lisa Roberts will provide refreshments and Lisa will give the program.

 

Graduation Sunday We will have a combined service on June 3rd to recognize our College and High School graduates. If you are graduating or your child is graduating we would like to recognize them on this date. Please fill out an information form for each graduate, these are located at each door of the Sanctuary.

 

The John P. Murray  Community Care Clinic and Albemarle Parks and  Recreation softball  tournament 

Norwood FUMC softball team is scheduled to play at 7:00 am, 8:00 am, and 10:00 am on Saturday morning, June 2nd The tournament is a fund raiser for the John Murray Community Care Clinic. Our own Chris Vaughn is the director of the Clinic and organizer of the tournament.  Please come play and/or watch to support this worthy cause.  Donations are welcome and should be designated to our team's fund-raising efforts. Pregnancy Resource Center of Stanly County (PRC)  Needs: New born size diapers, baby wipes, & infant baby formula.
